PW Chimera (Spectre-1) is an UAV in a hybrid, vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) configuration designed and built by a team led by prof. Tomasz Goetzendorf-Grabowski. PW Chimera was developed as a part of the NCBiR POIR.01.01.01-00-0814/17-00 project, named "Design and construction of unmanned medium and long-range aircraft enabling the transport of cargo or measuring equipment", commissioned by Spectre Solutions Ltd. Project period: 05.2018-07.2021 Three aircraft were built: a fully electric prototype and two target versions: electric and mixed (the marching drive is an internal combustion engine).
Two PW Chimera: full electric (left), mixed propulsion (right)
Vertical test flight (prototype)
Horizontal test flight (prototype)
Maiden flight (HR)
