Diploma Exam

Contains information regarding the course of the diploma examination and the applicable set of examination questions. Page intended for students preparing for the diploma exam.

1. Course of the Diploma Exam

The diploma examination consists of the following parts:

  1. Presentation of the diploma thesis (introduction, assumptions, tasks performed, results, conclusions). Approximate time: 15-20 minutes.
  2. Reviewer's comments, discussion.
  3. Questions from the 'dean's lists' (see point 3).
  4. Non-public part - deliberation of the diploma examination committee.
  5. Announcement of results and the overall study grade.

2. Grading Rules

According to § 32 of the Study Regulations at Warsaw University of Technology, the overall study grade is calculated to two decimal places and equals the sum of:

  • 0.6 of the weighted average of all positive course grades, with weights proportional to the number of assigned points
  • 0.3 of the diploma thesis grade
  • 0.1 of the diploma examination grade

Depending on the overall study grade calculated this way, the final study result is determined according to the following rules:

  • from 4.70 - Excellent (celujący)
  • from 4.40 to 4.69 - Very Good (bardzo dobry)
  • from 4.10 to 4.39 - Good Plus (ponad dobry)
  • from 3.80 to 4.09 - Good (dobry)
  • from 3.00 to 3.79 - Satisfactory (dostateczny)
