Streszczenie:
The "Dynamic Simulation of Complex Domestic Solar Energy System (DSES) with Thermal Storage Alternatives" is an extensive macro scale energy management study. The title summarizes the thesis objective. The text begins with general introduction of historical information regarding the utilization of solar energy at the south of Libya. Then, it directs spot light towards the global energy crisis due to the continuous dependency on fossil fuels and/or nuclear power. Later, it presents the potential solution latent in Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and specifically, in solar energy. The thesis presents these issues through two parts contain four chapters additional to three appendices. The first part presents the following dynamic simulations: 1) Generation of 1<custom name="sup">st</custom> weather data file Typical Meteorological Year (TMY) for Sebha city at the south of Libya, (as an original contribution to the engineering sciences). 2) Solar Domestic Hot Water (SDHW) system for an average family in Sebha city, (as economically competitive application). 3) Thermal load reduction process in the Solar House (Sebha-SH), (as solar passive application). 4) Solar space cooling process with Flat-plate instead of Evacuated-tube collector for Sebha-SH, (as an alternative technology at lower cost). 5) Solar /space heating with Rock -bed storage for Sebha-SH, (as an optimal coupling of solar electrical-thermal energy with classical cheap heat storage). 6) Solar space heating with Water-tank storage for Sebha-SH, (as contrasted classical application). 7) Possible use of PCM wall technique at Sebha city. (as a demonstration of a new heat storage technique for buildings) The second part includes the research outcomes, " i.e. the analysis with results discussion additional to the conclusions which generally present the possibility of full thermal load. coverage by solar resources in an integrated manner, and implicitly at an acceptable competitive costs. The appendices attached on CD ROM, include a large descriptive background of RES with various solar energy information additional to detailed description with examples and models of the program for the simulation of transient systems "TRNSYS" and detailed description of Sebha solar house, which has been adopted as case study in many places of this thesis.
