This presentation concerns theoretical and numerical modeling of the two
phase flows separated by weakly miscible gas/liquid interface. During
the seminar, different approaches to modeling of the sharp/diffusive
interface will be discussed and analyzed from the physical and
mathematical standpoint. As a result, statistical description unifying
features of the existing in the literaturę sharp/diffusive interface
models is proposed: Wacławczyk T. [Int. J. Multiph. Flow, 97, (2017)].
Afterwards, the extension of the statistical interface model to the case
when the intermittency region (domain where the sharp interface can be
found with non-zero probability) is not in equilibrium is presented.
Furthermore, the wide spectrum of possibilities in modeling of meso-,
macroscopic multiphase flows introduced by the new model is discussed.
