HELINERGY
Optimization of energy consumption of an unmanned electric-powered helicopter while performing take-off, waypoint flight and landing tasks (HELINERGY)
The aim of the project is to analyze and optimize the energy consumption of the unmanned helicopter in various phases of flight - take-off, waypoint flight and landing.
DAAS has a simulation model for the tested helicopter created in the FLIGHTLAB environment, which will be supplemented with a simulation model of the electric propulsion system created by the Division of Electric Propulsion and a dedicated helicopter autopilot.
Based on the helicopter simulation model integrated with the simulation model of its propulsion, using the implemented autopilot, an analysis of energy consumption will be carried out during the take-off, waypoint flight and landing mission designed as part of the project.
Utilizing the features of the helicopter, energy consumption during each of the flight phases will be optimized (mainly by changing the parameters of the take-off trajectory, waypoint flight, landing, strategy for performing these phases of flight and the way of transition between them) taking into account the designed mission boundary conditions.
After analyzes and optimization of energy consumption, flight tests will be performed using the unmanned compound helicopter to confirm the correctness of the results obtained.
