Prof. Ahmed Naguib, Michigan State University, Review of Past and Recent Fluid Mechanics Research at the Flow Physics and Control Laboratory
The goal of this presentation is to acquaint students, researchers and faculty at the Institute of Aeronautics and Applied Mechanics at Warsaw University of Technology of ongoing and past research of the speaker and his students/collaborators. The motivation for the presentation is to identify areas of research of common interest to both universities in order to establish and sustain collaborative research activity that takes advantage of complementary expertise of, and facilities at the two parties. To this end, questions, discussions and brainstorming during and/or after the presentation are welcome.
Prof. Naguib served as the Associate Chair for the Graduate Program from 2012 to 2014. His BS degree is from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, and Master and Ph.D. degrees are from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA. His research interests are in experimental fluid dynamics and associated applications, including flow physics and control, unsteady aerodynamics, flow induced vibration as well as development of measurement techniques. His work has resulted in more than 100 conference and journal publications, two book chapters, and three patents. He also served as Associate Editor of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Journal for nine years, and he is an Associate Fellow of AIAA and a Fulbright Scholar.
